The first half of 2021 was slightly quiet for gaming enthusiasts. Now that everyone’s getting back to their groove, August has many exciting releases lined up for games like 12 Minutes and Icarus, among others.

Next-gen console owners are already seeing a massive push with the new PS5 and Xbox series, but PC gamers also have good things in store, given there’s a massive line-up of thrilling games in August and beyond.

Release date: August 12, 2021

Platforms: PC

Icarus is a co-op survival game by RocketWerkz, a studio founded by Dean Hall – popularly known for DayZ. It was first revealed at the PC Gaming Show last year and people have been excited ever since. 

Players are left to explore a savage alien planet with a limited amount of time to build tools, gather resources, and try to make it back alive to their space station. A total number of eight players can play in a session together.

The game will be available to buy on Steam in the next two weeks and will cost around $25-30.

12 Minutes


Release date: August 19, 2021

Platforms: PC, Xbox One

12 Minutes is one of the most anticipated games since it was first unveiled back in 2019. 

The game is developed by Luis Antonio and focuses on the story of a husband stuck in a 12-minute time loop. 

It revolves around a young couple’s living room, where they are chatting and having fun. Although the circumstances change, the only way to end this is to break the loop once and for all.


The game is available on two different platforms, and people can add to their Steam wishlist until its final release.

Psychonauts 2


Release date: August 25, 2021

Platforms: Playstation 4, Xbox One, PC

The original Psychonauts was released almost 16 years ago and has been a crowd favourite ever since. 

After waiting for such a long time, Double Fine will be coming out with Psychonauts 2 at the end of this month.

Psychonauts 2 comes with new and improved game mechanics and combat systems along with detailed levels throughout the game.

Raz faces multiple combats with his enemies and tries to survive in the game using his powers and abilities. This edition also focuses on the quirky and mischievous obstacles in the game.

Madden NFL 22


Release date: August 20, 2021

Platforms: PC, PS5, Xbox Series X/S, PS4, Xbox One

Madden NFL 22 will be coming out in a few weeks with numerous changes in the gameplay and features. 

The Dynamic Gameday features will be introduced this year, including – Gameday Atmosphere, Gameday Momentum, and Next Gen Stats Star-Driven AI, which will make the game even more realistic.

EA has recently announced the Dual Entitlement offer, which enables you to upgrade your copy of Madden NFL 22 from PlayStation 4 to PlayStation 5 and similarly with the Xbox series at no additional cost.

The game is known as one of the best games of 2020, now finally coming to Xbox and PlayStation consoles. 

Hades is a roguelike action game that involves prince Zagreus fighting with monsters and evil gods in his journey to escape the underworld. 

Supergiant Games have announced that they will be targeting 60 frames per second at 1080p on Xbox One and PS4, while the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S would feature 4K visuals at 60 frames per second.
